Please send an email to paula.s.duchesne AT (lmco.com) with your registration request with your name, contact information, school name, FRC team number and the number of students and adults who will attend from your team. This is a separate registration apart from your registration to the kickoff.

QUICK BUILD DETAILS
All teams attending the Dallas Kickoff are invited to participate in the Quick Build Session held immediately after the kickoff event. This hands-on workshop is led by experienced coaches and mentors of North Texas veteran FRC teams. Teams divide into 3 sub-teams:
  • Electronics Sub-team
  • Transmission/Wheels Sub-team
  • Frame Sub-team
Groups gather task related parts and go to specified room locations. Sub-teams are led step by step through building the basic electronic, transmission, and frame building processes. Last year twenty-eight teams participated in the Dallas Quick Build Session and all teams had a rolling robot by the end of the day. Every team left from the workshop with a printed competition manual. By participating in the Quick Build Session, teams were able to focus the remaining weeks of the build period on strategizing, designing and building the competitive aspects of the robot.
We suggest your team bring the following items to the quick build session:
  • Cordless drill
  • Drill bits
  • Screwdriver bits
  • Wire cutters
  • Wire crimpers

OPEN HOUSE - FTC & FLL Participants
This year we will host an open house at the kickoff to help build interest in the FRC program. The open house will be from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. and will include a look at the FRC game pieces, a recorded viewing of the game simulation, a practice round for FLL teams and their robots and a viewing of the Quick Build Session. Please encourage FLL and FTC teams from your area to attend the open house. They need to send their registration request including: school, team name/number, and number of attendees to Stacey at sbucklin At (natureandscience.org}. Open house attendees must fulfill the waiver requirement listed above as well.
